I’m Koen Korevaar, based in Rotterdam. I work as an AML analyst and spend a good part of my evenings and weekends building things with AI. This site is where the two meet.
My day job, and where AI fits in
Anti-money-laundering work is about patterns, evidence and documentation. That turned out to be fertile ground for AI, as long as you use it with care. I use it to improve processes: automating the repetitive steps of an analysis so the judgement calls get the time they deserve, building dashboards that show case data and workload at a glance, and turning scattered knowledge into documentation people actually find and read.
The rules that apply to that work come first. No sensitive data in public tools, a human makes every decision, and each step stays explainable afterwards. Within those lines, AI removes a surprising amount of friction.
What I build in my spare time
hoebouwjemetai.nl is my main project: a Dutch learning platform about using AI and building with it, with free lessons for individuals and training for organisations. Before that I built vastgewrapt.nl, a website with a price calculator and photo-based quoting for an interior wrapping business.
Between projects I run local models at home and try every coding agent that ships, from Claude Code and Codex to Hermes and Grok. I keep what works and write about it when there is something worth sharing.
How I work with AI
Agents write most of a first version. I decide what gets built, review what comes back, test it, and ship it through git to a small server. Boring infrastructure and short cycles: a change goes live within a minute of pushing it. That rhythm, more than any single tool, is what made building in the evenings realistic.
Away from the screen
Long walks with my English cocker spaniel, and at the moment Ethan Mollick’s Co-Intelligence on the nightstand.
